Online toolkit
This toolkit is aimed for second language teachers and vocational teachers that work with migrant students. Toolkit consists of material and ideas for teaching migrants either in integration training or language training and vocational education and training. In addition, the material can also be used for various other purposes, trainings, and groups depending on the needs. The toolkit contains material for teaching five key competences that are:
- Mathematical competence and competence in science, technology, and engineering
- Literacy competence
- Learning to learn competence
- Digital competence
- Cultural competence
You can find the material under each competence. Exercises are aimed at developing key competences through concrete examples; therefore, they can also be used in teaching language or different subjects. Exercises are divided into five categories:
- Practical activity ideas
- Tools for recognizing students’ skills and competences
- Material for student independent use
- Group or pair work ideas
- Digital material
There are links under each exercise that refer to skills that can be developed with the exercise. With the help of the inner links users can navigate and search for other exercises that are related to developing the same skills. Some of the exercises also include a printable template and/or links. Exercises can be used as such, or teachers can modify and develop them further based on their needs.
