Online toolkit

An activating, responsive, participative, inclusive online toolkit that helps teachers develop the key competences of learners in a way that helps migrants successfully transfer from integration/ language training to VET

This project result will focus on:

  • recognizing what kind of tools, methods and models already exist and share that information,
  • recognizing what key competences and basic skills are mandatory in order to succeed in integration training, in VET and at work
  • defining the target group that would benefit from our project outcomes,
  • creating a toolkit for the language and VET teachers for developing learners’ key competences

Learning portfolio and virtual support system

Development and implementation of learning portfolio and virtual support system that focuses on key competences based on the content of the toolkit and a virtual guidance support system for migrants to succeed in entering VET

The aim is to create a learning portfolio and virtual support system aimed at migrant learners and based on the chosen key competences. This learning portfolio and virtual support system will focus on a skills matrix developed and will allow migrant learners to document existing skills and evaluate the skills that needs further development. The learning portfolio and virtual support system will be based on the content of the toolkit and it will support learner to identify, evaluate, verbalize and further develop basic skills and key competences. It will consist of materials that can be used with the trainer during the education or independently.

The idea is to make existing skills visible and assist learners to further develop skills that helps them enter VET, succeed in studies and in working life.

Booklet of best practices

Drawing up the best practices and recommendations for actors of the field of migrant education.

It will be produced a booklet of best practices and recommendations for language trainers, integration trainers, VET providers and policy makers on how to deal with the challenges in the field of migrant education in terms of developing key competences, supporting learners in their educational path and smoothening the transitions.

In order to raise awareness of the support (systems, tools, methods etc.) that migrant students need to develop, learn and improve their existing skillsets so that they can implement the needed key competences and basic skills in their studies in a way that helps them succeed in their learning, studies, VET and work. And also in order to raise awareness of the importance of the basic skills and key competences among all the actors within the field of migrant education.
